Raipur. The School Education Department of almost every district did not distribute the scholarships in the last academic session. The officials responsible are blaming the pandemic. The District Education Officers have not submitted the list of the previous year and this year, and the scholarship portal will close tomorrow.
The Public Education Director, Jitendra Shukla, has said that the District Education Officers will be responsible if the eligible students do not get the scholarship. The Education officers have received a one-day deferment to submit correct information; because the scholarship portal will be closed on January 16. Raipur District Education Officer, GR Chandrakar, said that the scholarship was not given to those whose information, such as account number is wrong. Students are not attending school due to Coronavirus, which is causing further delays. The teachers individually contacted the students and corrected the details, and they received the scholarship back in February.
The scholarship scheme was transferred online given the problems with the offline system. Yet, it seems nothing has changed; scholars are still struggling hard to avail the benefits.
