Jashpur incident could have been avoided, it's unfortunate and shouldn't have happened: CM Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur: A day after the clash broke out in the Congress party meeting in Jashpur, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel said that State in charge PL Punia has made it clear. Now one should not spoil the atmosphere by questioning him again and again. What happened is unfortunate.

Talking to media persons here on Monday before leaving to Lucknow, chief minister said “the incident which happened in Jashpur could have been avoided. It's unfortunate, it shouldn't have happened”.

A brawl broke out between Congress party workers during a district-level conference held in Jashpur on Sunday. In this, former district president and member of Board of Secondary Education Pawan Agarwal was giving a speech. During this, he talked about the contribution of TS Singh Deo in the victory of Congress in the 2018 assembly elections. He said that when the high command has talked about the 2.5 years formula for chief ministership, now TS Singh Deo should get a chance. Jashpur Congress District Minority Department President Iftikhar Hasan reached the stage and snatched the mic from him. During this, Pawan Aggarwal was hit and even got slapped.

Pawan Aggarwal has alleged that at the behest of Kunkuri MLA UD Minj, this incident of scuffle and misbehavior happened with him.
